Lack of Iodine and Silica Can Create Hair Loss

Iodine

Iodine is vital to your hair growth. Sheep farmers long ago found that vegetation-lacking iodine due to iodine-depleted soil would adversely affect the growth of wool in their sheep. Likewise, to avoid hair loss, you need iodine. Iodine is synthetically added to table salt, however in this form it is not assimilated well into your body and can therefore cause iodine overload.

Your Lifestyle Is Leading To Hair Loss

Most of us lose hair every day; you only have to look at your hair brush or comb to see this is true. In fact, this may surprise you but every two to three months we may find we lose up to 10 percent of our hair. It is a natural growth cycle that hair undergoes.

What Causes Hair Loss

There are a number of other factors that come into play and can cause premature hair loss:-

1. Excessive use of chemical when hair coloring or hair styling.

2. Your hair don’t suit with chemical in shampoo or in coloring. Washing your hair with a shampoo that is too strong, or constantly dying the hair can gradually strip it of its natural oils which protect it and lead to hair loss.

Hair Growth Cycle

Hair is made up mainly of a protein called keratin. The only living part of the hair is the root (sometimes known as the bulb), which is anchored to the base of the follicle. The follicle supplies oxygen and nutrients to the root, and lubricates the hair shaft with an oily substance called sebum.

Hair is in a constant cycle of growth, rest and renewal – it is natural to lose some hair each day. Hair grows in phases.

The colour, curl, length, thickness and amount of hair depend on genetic factors.
